Dubai Will Have Four Times More Beaches

The Dubai Media Office has unveiled a development plan for Jebel Ali Beach. This will be the first project of its kind in the UAE. The 6.6 km long beach will feature swimming areas, diving spots, pedestrian walkways with observation platforms, children's play zones, and a mangrove ecosystem.
The plan also includes turtle rehabilitation activities on the beach, allowing visitors to enjoy watching these animals in their natural habitat.
Jebel Ali Beach will cover an area of 330 hectares. According to the project, there will be a 5 km sandy beach developed by Nakheel, while the 1.6 km mangrove beach will be built by Dubai Municipality.
This will be the largest public beach in the city.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said, "We strive to develop the infrastructure and services necessary to offer a diverse urban experience for citizens, residents, and guests. Our goal is to create spaces rich in beaches, open areas, and greenery for recreation. The ultimate goal is to enhance the well-being of city residents, create a healthy environment for all, and make Dubai the best place to live in the world."
The Jebel Ali Beach project is part of the overall master plan for developing public beaches in the emirate, aimed at increasing the total length of beaches by 400%.
Previously, authorities also announced that by 2040, the Dubai Metro will have 140 stations covering more than 228 square kilometers. Currently, Dubai has 64 stations.
As part of the Dubai Executive Council's plans, the areas around metro stations will be developed and improved. The expansion of the transport network will help reduce the emirate's carbon emissions to 16 tons per capita and provide the city with more economic opportunities.
Plans for the development of Al Maktoum International Airport, which will become the airport with the highest capacity in the world, were also unveiled. The project will cost 128 billion dirhams and will be five times the size of the existing Dubai International Airport.
